For now, the content of this blog is based in two main categories:

1. The “IN THE GROOVE” category where you will find news related to the music of NAFUNK DEGROOVE and music in general written by NAFUNK DEGROOVE.

2. The “RABBITA I AM EN I’LL DO WHAT I WANT!” category where Mario a freelance reporter visits places he knows to uncover and write personal stories of creatures that would otherwise stay in the dark.

These two worlds sometimes interact and become one, as in the first post where Mario meets NAFUNK DEGROOVE for an interview.

Some are creatures, some are not. And you don’t have to have an extra eye on the forehead or nipples with feathers to be one. Having spent lots of time with them as i travel, creature i would call someone that others don’t always understand, someone that is a bit more than human in the way that he/she looks or in the very special way he/she acts. From some creatures you will hear stories you would never expect.

Creatures most of the time tent to understand each other, so if you feel close to the stories i am about to share with you in the future then you probably are one. Creatures need creatures.  Their spirit dies when they do not interact.

Having seen the video of “Animals’ right to dance”, I have a strong belief that Nafunk Degroove is a creature. Time will show. Now read the interview.

M- Tell us NAFUNK DEGROOVE what makes you laugh.

N.D.- I remember i used to laugh a lot at high school with my friend in the classroom. If we started we wouldn’t stop. Once i remember talking about that teacher having hard sex on the bed. She was talking about history and shit and we were drawing her naked. We were caught laughing. Ironic she said the classic and always used in the classroom whenever someone was laughing: “Why don’t you share with the class what you are saying? We want to laugh too..” Last weekend i passed from the school. I went inside and sat in the yard. Those moments were the best.

M- What makes you cry?

N.D.- I don’t remember crying lately. The thought of my parents growing old makes me sad.

M- What makes you mad?

N.D.-  Many things. I try to avoid things that drive me mad. I believe i have a satisfying control of that.

M- What are you afraid of?

N.D.- Pain.

M- What about death?

N.D.- Hmm death. If their was no death humans would be worse. Just think of  that: most of the people are already acting as if they will live forever. Death makes life valuable and even fascinating. You wake up from a dream and say “Ha! it was only a dream, back to reality, a new day comes”. Pay attention to the reality we have created only for your survival but know their is no reality at all. You don’t know were you have been before life and you don’t know where you go after death. We know nothing, yet we think we know it all!  Thats the real thing, thats the fun, the energy and drive for me. The unknown..

M- Last question. The funniest thing that has happened to you.

N.D.- I have to remember. You know, there is a mess in my brain. I don’t keep my experiences tidy and ready to withdraw because of a relevant discussion. I remembered something now! Two weeks before i was with friends next to a swamp. There was a very nice thick vine branch coming down from the trees. I wanted to do what Tarzan did, hang on it and cross to the other site. I tried three times but i wouldn’t let go when there was land below me. Something didn’t feel right. The fourth time i became impatient. I just have to let go, i thought. I let go and fell in the swamp.   

M- Ha! I would like to see that! 

N.F.- Maybe you see it one day! ; )
